| You may be asking yourself....."So, why should I get a bengal cat?" Maybe you've heard that bengals are exotic looking cats that look like mini-leopards or jaguars and might make a really cool addition to your family. More than likely, you've heard that bengal cats make really great companion animals for people of any age and they have many pleasing very un-cat-like behaviors While those things are true, there are many many reasons why bengal cats make fantastic family pets and a couple of reasons why they may not. The following are facts that apply to almost any bengal cat: Bengals are boistorous, highly inquizitive, extremely intelligent, agile, active, in your face cats who can be loud and demanding. They love to interact with you, expect and demand your attention. They may very well jump in the shower or tub with you, consider your toilet or bathtub their personal jacuzzi, insist that whatever you're doing must involve them and that they must help, talk back if you scold them, complain loudly if you shut a door for some privacy or decide that a kitchen sink full of water was obviously meant for them to splash in. *If some or any of these things bother or disturb you, please consider a different breed of cat!* On the other hand, if this sort of behavior intrigues you, there's even more where that comes from. Bengals often love to play fetch, just like a dog. They can be trained to walk on a leash, they like to sleep with their owners, they greet you when you come home, they know their names and come when you call them, love to be pet and sit and relax with you. So far, I haven't been able to train one to cook and clean for me...but I'm trying. Aside from the bengals exotic look, the very best thing about them, is that they really like being around people. They are great with kids, adults and other pets. My bengals will love and entertain you and all they really ask in return, is that you do the same. |
